Decide what colours you lot want your hearts to be. Nosotros painted three unlike tubes in 3 different ways using one paint colour on the outside and a different paint color on the within. We used acrylic paint because it has such practiced coverage and we only needed one coat.

Nosotros chose to use a cheap plain white sail to piece of work on only you could pigment it if yous prefer.

Don't worry if you don't have a canvas you can always use a piece of rigid menu stock instead.

I like to encourage the children to lay out their hearts on the canvas and explore different patterns and random layouts, symmetrical and unbalanced etc. They tin besides explore unlike colour combinations and if they've made hearts in different thicknesses they can explore a range of 3D effects too and the touch of shadows on their concluding piece.

When yous are happy with the lay out of your hearts, lift upwards one at a time and employ a thin layer of UHU glue along one edge and stick it in its chosen identify on the canvas.

If I was doing this with very young children then I would choose to use white glue like Elmer'southward that dries clear and use the mucilage all over the canvas instead.
